We wear that mask that
Puts a pretty face
On the web for all to see
Smiling constantly
No privacy…
When will the weary find rest?
We wear the mask that
Hides the pain
Unique to PTSD,
We see too many
Extrajudicial killings constantly,
My soul needs to breathe.
We wear the mask that
Society has deemed
Is the only acceptable face,
Told to stay in your place
Niggers are bred to be strong
And don’t have feelings anyway.
We wear the mask that
Was given, or better yet forced
A constant reminder of the worse the world can offer
Removal hasn’t been proper,
Im fearful for our sons and daughters
For many, the masked has fused
And there’s nothing they can do
And the fine line’s disappeared
Between the mask and you.
We wear the mask that
None want to be accountable for
It’s from the past,
Thus not their problem
Don’t suffocate in your suffering
It’ll be all your fault
And please dont do it on the marble floor passed down from many generations before.
We wear the masks that
Made ancestors strong, and
Helped a nation manifest destiny
A mask worn too long
Under the scorn of unappreciation
A mask that encompasses the past
And the future we’re facing.

I almost lost my self.
Almost boxed myself
Out
Almost accepted society’s label
Ouch…
I never liked the feeling
Of glue pulling fine hairs
Of using a name not ancestrally linked
Of fearing that this name denotes #melanin
And what the powers that be might think.
Stop…
Drop the execuses
and execute.
We came here for a reason, &
Your #soul knows what your sent to do.
Drop into the knowing that #life
Is way more than connected to you.
Oneness is #truth

I allow for you to flow.
Curves go on for thousands of miles
And you know I love to be on the beach.
You know I can’t resist your skin, and the soul hidden within
The beauty that only intelligence and retrospection can bring
You know I love the vulnerability you seek, though we both know you’ve been hurt. And I’m still licking a thousand cuts.
I allow myself to flow.
Flew half the globe just to get back to you,
Grew a dimension or two so I could hold your love.
To lay in the soil from which all has sprung
And soak up the vibes meant only for the chosen
I allow life to flow
And she’s never caressed me more sumptuously
Or vivaciously reinvigorated a passion invaders tried to quash.
Never was I as inspired as when I lay next to you
Ready to incarnate dreams, I’d gladly wake up next to you each dawn.
I allow love to flow.
The feelings have never been deeper, the connection has never been stronger, and the electricity never this hot.
I flowed back into myself,
Ever careful to try easy, let you come to me, and cherish the bounty…have gratitude for the moment.
I became the flow.
Became you.
And we rose
