Elections 2018 – Opportunities

In 2018, all 435 House of Reps seats are up for reelection. And 33 Senate seats. We have a tremendous opportunity to mobilize all those who didn’t vote in 2016. All those who have a profound amount of skill but find themselves on the outside looking in. All the youthful, passionate Americans who can envision a better world and are willing to put in the work to guide us there. I can imagine a political party to house this blitz of a campaign: The People’s Party. Awareness and support w oils largely be built through volunteer outreach and advertising. Costs would be low, and our moral ground would be high.

Theres tremendous opportunity at the local level, particularly in the Bay. In Oakland, City council member and school director districts 2, 4, and 6 are up for reelection. San Leandro has districts 1,3, and 5 for reelection. The Mayor and City Auditor for both Oakland and San Leandro are up for election. And the Auditor for Berkeley is also in the 2018 election.

The People’s Party links regional grassroots activists, builds statewide coalitions, and represents the People on a National issues. Building a movement off the anti-trump sentiment won’t be difficult. The magic is transmuting the general view of most politicized people into one that is positive an intentional about the attaining love, healing, and justice.

The People’s Party’s Platform

The thing about schemers and dreamers is that we believe anything is possible. We can see the steps simplified in our mind’s eye and we sometimes (foolishly) discount the egos or present realities tied to a situation. I know that’s a problem of mine, but I am holding out hope that a common enemy in Trump, and his Republican cronies ,can unite the sane, rationale, loving voters. Especially those that didn’t find the polls on 2016. I am praying that more citizens are beginning to realize that I’d we don’t step up, how can we expect other to? I have been in awe and amazement of those already on the front lines working for you and I. And I think it’s about time for more of us to lend a hand and live up to our truest and fillets potential. If Trump and the Repubs are any indication, you don’t have to be a genius to be in politics. Let’s thank them for lowering the bar by stepping up and challenging these demonic spirits for power. I have no respect for politicians not centered in the millennia struggle for peace on our fair planet. Is now not the time for us to make our voices heard and our power felt? I fear our children may not inherit a country if we refuse to act. The power our government exercises is derived from the power of the People. We will be better served wielding our own inherent power than giving it to a group proven untrustworthy, hoping that they reform.
