This makes me very angry! I’ve always wondered why there were lines in the sky. I’ve always wondered why I couldn’t see the stars at night. I’ve always wondered why the sky looks so darn hazy. When is the last time you looked up? Have […]
I recently met TM this year. I instantly recognized his intelligence and wanted to probe his mind to see where his head’s at. We are currently working together on issues in Oakland and I anticipate we will work together on many injustices in the future. Here’s what T had to say, his responses are emboldened.
Where were you born? San Diego, Ca
Where were you raised? Fresno, Ca
Where do you live now? Oakland, Ca. I’ve been living here since 2004.
What do you do for a living? [begrudgingly] I’m on Social Security.
Do you like it? No, not at all.
What is your ideal society? I wish I brought my books and notes, ha ha…(1) A collectively organized, circular city that has harmonious interplay of man-made structures, in cooperation with natural structures that are found in nature so that people are less divorced from the land. (2) A basic subsistence of the land to keep people’s basic needs met. (3) A slower pace of life where people are more in-tuned with the body and connected to their minds in a spiritual level which allows them to connect to each other better.
Okay, that sounds awesome! What’s stopping it from becoming a reality? Things need to be broken down better. People need to be slowly educated to be human rather than what happening now where we are all taught to be consumers. Think of it like this, If I gave someone a huge 2 foot high book and said all the knowledge you will ever need is in this book, how many people would read it? Not many, people prefer when things are simple. Exactly, which is why I want to create a manual of sorts which is broken down into simple, easy to understand terms. I want to remedy the lack of critical thinking which is rampant throughout the spectrum of people on earth.
Is there any thing you want to change in our society? Hah! I don’t think you have the time, nor I the breathe, for an elaboration of all the things I want changed.
Have you gotten involved in organizing and social action? If so, why? First, I encountered the Lyndon LaRouche Group. I was learning about the concept of creating a new cultural renaissance with economic principles. The emphasized talking about economics using language skills…I realized they were just kids. They weren’t serious enough about affecting change. I later got involved with the Spartacus Youth Brigade. Soon after I found out about the bullshit going on behind the scenes; they are solely agitators. They perceived themselves as the vanguard who will usher in the movement but they didn’t really have any vision. Like I said, they just went to rallies and what not to stir up people. I also got involved with some other groups and the World Can’t Wait before I decided to go my own route and learn all I could. I started hanging out at the Marxist Library talking to people, and learning that way.
Are you focused on any causes in particular? And what do these causes need to be successful? I’m really committed to Public Banking. This movement needs awareness and a willingness from the citizenry to build something for the benefit of our entire society. We need to educate ourselves.
How do you define consciousness? Movement. The very act of movement implies a relative consciousness of the system it is a part of…movement of cells in body..blood, platelets, etc. create their own forms of consciousness….even rocks!
How many conscious people do you know? Everyone is conscious, the only thing that varies is the level.
How many people do you believe think like you do? According to my neurologist, I’m in the top 10 percentile of the species.
Is this good or bad? If people actually do think like me, its a good thing. We can work together to accomplish common goals if this is the case.
If America were to fix her problems, how would it happen? Through open public forums and dialogue that are based on respect and camaraderie.
What are the biggest problems to fix? The so-called education system which is really a schooling system of economic and social reproduction. The institutionalization of inequality across the spectrum of all forms of organization is a huge concern.
Are American citizens ready to face the problems created by this country? Not until we grow up!
Does the good this country has done outweigh the bad? If we actually implemented the things we put into law, this country would be great…
The other day, I heard a colleague of mine say, “…Everyone in Oakland is an activist. They are either working on an issue or just finished working on one.” The troubling thing about it was the tone he used, which suggested that it shouldn’t be […]

We are at a period in history where we truly need to question what we used to accept as fact. This questioning, inspired by the movie Money&Life which premiered in San Francisco today, has brought me to a serious, and very controversial question: is capitalism […]
This is the start of a project I’ve been wanting to do for a long while. I sincerely want to make a difference, but I realize that the change I perceive is needed and the change that others feel is necessary may be completely different. […]
